Having done apartment hunting in NYC, the recent trend of AI-generated furniture in virtually-staged apartment photos is not only infuriating but also highly misleading. I’ve seen photos that show a closet-sized space fit a king bed in a way that defies proportions.

Idea for a platform: you upload the virtually staged photos from the listings with a known floorplan. It calculates the square footage, deletes the furniture, and slightly enshittifies the apartment (e.g. makes the apartment’s hardwood floors look less perfectly new, adds a realistic amount of wear and tear, and a layer of dirt to the windows.)
